New....Coming to Website!!!

We are so excited to tell you of a new webpage soon to be introduced!   This is something many of our customers have been asking for….an introduction  into the World of the NeedleArts!  It is a view into the past; something we have done before, though not for awhile.  We are offering finished hand-stitched and embroidered NeedleArt for purchase.  And they are practical pieces, as well as beautiful

Along with the NeedleArt, we will also be introducing handpainted palettes to hold embroidery thread and/or yarn for projects.  This is just perfect for the NeedleArtist who has everything!  It is a beautiful piece of art!  No two exactly alike!

Decorative Flour Sack Towels

Enjoy these decorative flour sack towels trimmed in beautiful fine quality 100% cotton.  They are perfect for everyday, the holidays or the different seasons.  The ruffle along the bottom is approximately 3 ½” long and has six (6) different fabric designs in it  Each towel has two (2) appliques above the ruffle, adding to its beauty and its unique character.  The towel is 18”x 33” plus the length of ruffle. 

Flour sack towels are reminiscent of a time when flour was purchased in sacks weighing 50-100#.  When the flour sack was empty, it would be laundered, bleached, cut and hemmed.  They were used for many things around the house including kitchen towels.  Any nubs and imperfections are characteristic of the flour sack.

These towels are all a little different. We hope you enjoy your decorative flour sack.

Following is a quick Dipping Sauce you might enjoy:

Beer-Mustard Dipping Sauce

In a small saucepan, cook 1/2 cup chopped onion in 2 tsp butter over med heat for 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned.  Add 3/4 cup beer; cook until liquid is reduced to 1/2 cup.  Stir in 1/3 cup honey mustard and 2 tbsp thinly sliced sliced green onion tops.  Heat through.  Serve as a dipping sauce or sandwich spread

We are also adding something new to our Blog....either a recipe or a pattern now and again which we think you may just enjoy.  Let us know!  This time around, a recipe to enjoy during the months of summer

SUMMER BERRY PARFAIT
Ingredients

1 1/2 

quarts 

strawberries, hulled and quartered (about 6  cups)

2 

cups 

blueberries

1 

cup 

raspberries

1/4 

cup 

granulated sugar

1/2 

teaspoon 

finely grated lemon zest, plus 1 teaspoon lemon juice

kosher salt

1 1/2 

cups 

heavy cream

3 

tablespoons 

confectioners’ sugar

1 

teaspoon 

pure vanilla extract

Directions

1. Toss the strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, granulated sugar, lemon zest and juice, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Let sit, stirring occasionally, until the berries are juicy, 20 to 30 minutes.
2. In a separate bowl, whip the cream, confectioners’ sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
3. Layer the cream and berries in eight 8-ounce jars or parfait cups, dividing evenly.

Many of you have asked for us to add 'Carol Wilson Fine Arts' single greeting cards to our website, so they have been added............in All Categories!  Be sure to take a look!  The prices are great and the selection is great (while they last).  As you know, 'Carol Wilson Fine Arts' has retired, so as we sell them, they cannot be replaced, so check them out and order them while available!

We also have a selection of beautiful bags for the Holidays 

Beautiful custom-made Market Bag from the ‘Suzanne O’Nuallain Collection’.  They are in the Holiday Collection for 2014.  The bag is a casual and roomy shoulder bag with great detailing which includes corner patches, topstitching, an inside pocket, a magnet snap closure, and to keep your keys secure, a key keeper which matches the lining on the inside... a great addition!  (Note:  The poinsettia bag does not have a key keeper). The shoulder strap connects to the bag with brass rings.

The fabric is a fine quality cotton in two fabrics.  The strap has both fabrics, and the entire bag is interfaced giving it good ‘body’.  The bottom of the bag is interfaced with a very stiff interfacing.  it includes a removable glittery tie which can be tied into either a bow or loose tie.   The tie is 34" long point-to-point and 2 1/2" wide.   A great bag for the entire Holiday Season and beyond!

After 32 years ‘Carol Wilson Fine Arts, Inc’ is going out of business.   We are sorry to give you this news because we know you have enjoyed her artwork for quite a few years, but we did want you to be aware of this important information.  But you do have the opportunity to view our website to see the fine Collection we have available at this time. We have also added the Christmas Collection as well as all the various single holiday greeting cards. I know many are very disappointed and sad to see them ‘close their doors’, but after all these years of pleasing so many people with such beautiful artwork, we do wish them the very best in their future pursuits.
