Black Friday is over; Cyber Monday will soon be closed until next year; thus, the Christmas Season has indeed begun!  Happy Shopping, or maybe you all are done with all your Christmas shopping for the year!  Can that possibly be?  Are we ever done?  There is always that one present yet to be bought!  If that is the case, stop by at http://www.forgetmenotllc.com/ and see what we may have for you....a stocking stuffer, Christmas cards that you forgot you have to send, gifts for neighbors or friends.  And of course, there is the doll collector's dream..a doll by Tonner or Effanbee or something that no one else has....a custom made outfit for one of those beautiful dolls.  And best of all, we have lowered prices on some of the dolls/outfits just in time for Christmas giving.

Enjoy the next few weeks of the Christmas Season.  My thought for you today:
"Christmas is the time of year to count your blessings, enjoy your family and friends and leave the stress behind"

Happy Holidays!

Can you believe we are over a week into November already!  Before you know it Thanksgiving will be here and we will be well on our way into the days of Holiday Shopping...WOW!  It seems that summer was just last week, doesn't it?  Where does the time go!?  I have just finished a NeedleArt piece of work I wanted you to see; I really like it and I hope you do too.  It is on a wonderful piece of linen with one side embroidered in beautiful colors that stand out so vividly.  It was a delightful piece to stitch....sweet daisies, bold poppies in shades of red, and velvety blue hydrangeas.  Scattered among these lovely flowers are little bees gathering their honey.  The grand silver painted dragonfly sitting proudly among the flowers is a sight to behold!  This NeedleArt piece is an 11 1/2" x 11 3/4" pillow, stitched down the sides and tied with bows at the top and bottom.  The navy blue velvet ribbons are held in place with 3/8" Glass Treasure flower buttons.  The back of the pillow is also 100% linen and the pillow insert is made of a very fine muslin with a polyester batting.  If our client so desires, we will custom make an insert of lavender or 'Forget-Me-Not' sachet to put into the polyester batting.  The pillow retails for $149.99 and will be put on our website. I will have another NeedleArt piece for you to see on the website also.  It is a Christmas piece, "Christmas Stockings", quite charming!

To welcome in the beautiful season of autumn, Forget-Me-Not, LLC gave away one lovely Flowers @ Work Computer Desk Set  by Carol Wilson Fine Arts Stationery. The opportunity to be the lucky recipient was offered to all our friends on Facebook. All one had to do was 'RSVP I'm Attending' by Oct 29th 2010. The drawing occurred and the lucky recipient is Susanne Geiger-Wanser.  Congratulations Susanne and enjoy!  Thanks to all who responded.

That's all for now.

What an absolutely gorgeous day today in Door County.  The sun is shining brightly and the air is as crisp as the freshest apples, which one can find in all the farm markets along the roadsides here and there also selling all the wonderful fruits of the autumn season.  The leaves that have fallen crunch under your feet as you walk along the many 'off-the-beaten' paths that twist and turn through the many wooded areas.  We have just about 2 weeks remaining before our leaves peak.  This is the time when our landscape comes alive with such intense colors in fiery reds and oranges and the yellows blend right in with the rest of the autumn colors.  This grand showing that Mother Nature gives us is the last 'hurrah' before winter settles in, but what a showing it is!  Even though it is short-lived, there is no better time to visit Door County.

....and here at 'Forget-Me-Not, LLC' we have news also.  We have just a few Tonner 'Cami & Jon' dolls remaining; they have been so very popular, and the design of their ensembles are extraordinaire!  Totally!  And now we present to you....Tonner's 13" 'Revlon'  Just a darling!  She is available on PreOrder as a blonde, brunette, redhead, or wigged (3 different hairstyles and colors)  And talk about outfits!  Hers are second-to-none!  Take a look!

In fact, there is a new face on that page, an adorable little brunette! Look for yourself. She can be yours, but you don't want to want too long because there is only one!

The nights are getting cooler…is that a sign that autumn will soon be here? Summer just doesn’t stay too long anymore….where does it go! No matter, the fall season is also just glorious!

I thought you would like to see some pictures of Chicago and Navy Pier. The family was all together last weekend for a big event and had such a grand time; how about these pictures! There is nothing more beautiful than Chicago’s skyline!

Stormy night last night but cool sleeping.  We are cozy and tucked away in our little corner of the world.  Though the tourists are many throughout our community, it is quiet and peaceful in our "space".

Bill, Maille & I walk about 1 - 1 1/2miles everyday through the woods and around the pond.  It is indeed a wonderful place to be....just ask Maille she'll agree.

Summer is flying by; I cannot believe that school begins in less than 1 month...how can that be!  It seems the summer holiday just began, doesn't it?
Stop back and vist me again soon.  Autumn in Door County is absolutely beautiful and I would love to share it with you.  Also stop by our website as quite a few Tonner dolls are available right now at a significant savings:  http://www.forgetmenotllc.com/

In the month of September I will be telling you about a free gift we will be sending to a lucky person in the month of October.  Watch for details!

Meet Maille O'Nuallain, our Cairn Terrier.  She is a 4 year old silver brindle.  She is quite the Star in our neighborhood.  Everyone loves Maille and Maille loves everyone, especially children!  Maille's daddy was Best of Breed in the Westminster Show but she didn't care! "Tah", says she!  Maille is originally a Minnesota gal, but has been a Wisconsin girl for most of her sweet little life (and of course, a Packer fan).

Today is the last day of July! Where did the month go?! Bill, Maille & I have had a great time so far this summer. After going to South Dakota, we went up through the UP (Upper Peninsula) and over to Petoskey Michigan where we stayed for a few days. Petoskey is a great tourist area, very much like Fish Creek and Door County. In fact, there are many, many similarities between our little villages. It is on the east side of Lake Michigan and we are on the west side and they are just a tad bit north of where we are located. We had good weather while there, but have experienced heavy rain and thunderstorms elsewhere. We also spent a few days in Wisconsin Dells where our youngest granddaughter was in swim competition. What a beautiful swimmer she has become....Butterfly is her specialty; WOW! It is such a beautiful stroke and is so difficult to perfect! How proud we are of her!

What's new at Forget-Me-Not,LLC you may be wondering.  Well, we just received another shipment from Tonner which is always fun!  More outfits for 'Cami & Jon', a new doll from the 'Monica Merrill' line and Gone with the Wind's Scarlett 'What My Lamb Gonna Wear' doll.  She is awesome!  Take a look!

She won't be around too long.  We have been waiting quite awhile for this beauty!

I have also been working on another NeedleArt project and have fit it into a custom Walnut Box created by 'Treasures in Wood'.  What do you think of them?
The NeedleArt is done in silk embroidery floss with crystals & pearls and one larger crystal heart.
This box is solid walnut with dovetail corners; quite a beauty!

Beautiful Fish Creek WI in Door County

Did I tell you all tht Fish Creek was voted a #1 small town get-away destination by 'Midwest Living' magazine.  Now you can't get any better than that!  We are the best that Door County has to offer....we have it all....art, nature, water, to name just a few, and one of the best of all, beautiful Peninsula State Park  ....3,776 acres, which by the way, celebrates its Centennial this year.  You can just imagine all the activity that has been going on there and will continue throughout the year.  This beautiful park is on miles of Green Bay shoreline, where one can hike, bike, camp or cross-country ski in the winter months.  The sights are breathtaking, whether you are on the beach, at the lighthouse, or looking at the limestone bluffs 150 ft high.  What a very perfect place to be!

Now onto 'Forget-Me-Not, LLC':  Many comments about the 'Cami & Jon' Collection by Tonner.  Those of you who have pre-ordered the outfits are going to be very happy ....four of the ensembles are expected in this week.  Now how exciting is that!  And those of you who have been thinking, 'should I or shouldn't I order' had better decide quickly because I cannot re-order; once they are gone, they're gone!

The thought I leave with you today is:  Everyday is filled with new discoveries; just think of the possibilities

I would love to hear from you, so stay in touch and check in often.
Have a good week; take care of yourself and your loved ones.

A Dreary Day Here In Door County!

This afternoon is a good time to curl up in a chair and read a good book or stitch a fine stitch; oh, how relaxing is that!  I have just finished another heart sachet to add to my collection of sachets.  Here it is; what do you think?  Overall, it is about 6 inches (tall & wide).  They all have a ribbon loop so they can be hung on a doorknob or hanger or wherever one wishes; quite versatile little sachets!

My thought for you today is:  Dream, always dream, and hold onto those dreams.  Anything is possible!

Happy Independence Day!

The weather is just great and there will be parties, parades, picnics and fireworks over Green Bay this weekend in Fish Creek as we celebrate Our Country's Independence! The crowds are here shopping and boating in preparation for the big event coming; what fun it will be!

We had cause to celebrate on May 15/16  here when Fish Creek's 'White Gull Inn' became extremely famous and was on ABC's Good Morning America. After nationwide on-line voting by GMA viewers on May 15, the White Gull Inn was declared the winner in the 'Best Breakfast in America Challenge'.Of course their winning breakfast was their now famous (and deliciously yummy) cherry stuffed French toast. The cherries are a local product here in Door County, of course. How proud we are of our Door County, Fish Creek, 'White Gull Inn' and our local cherries. The next time you are up this way be sure to stop.

Forget-Me-Not, LLC is working with quite a few clients in putting together Tea Parties as related to invitations and place cards, so if you are looking for tea place cards and/or portfolios, look no further. We have them for you. Nothing grander than sending out invitations for your very special Tea Party. And along with that, what about your hostess apron. Our beautiful hostess aprons bring many 'oohs and aahs' from all who purchase them and wear them for their Tea, or give them as a gift.  You  too will love them. At least 2 yards of fabric is used in creating each apron and there is plenty of handstitching in each one too, making them special indeed!  Be sure to view at them at:   http://www.forgetmenotllc.com/aprons.shtml

June 24, 2010

What a grand time we have had over the past 10 days.  Bill & I took our grandson Matthew to Mt. Rushmore for his 13th birthday.  It was quite a trip and one that we will cherish and remember for quite a long time. Mt Rushmore and the carvings of our 4 Presidents was absolutley awesome.  I cannot put into words the feeling one has when looking upon this monument; pictures do not do it justice.  After we left Mt Rushmore, we travelled quite a distance through Custer State Park, but not quite all 71,000 acres of it before we found the buffalo, and when we did...oh boy, there were hundreds of them...on the road, along the side of the road, everywhere you looked there were buffalo!  Just what Matthew wanted to see; was he ever excited!

Then onto Chief Crazyhorse Memorial.  I don't know how they will ever get him done.  They have been working on this since 1948 and this is as far as they are, but is he going to be huge and magnificent!  Our weather during the day was good...a bit windy at times but sunny and warm.  We were indeed blessed.  We stayed in Hill City about 10 miles from all the activities.  We brought home many wonderful laughs, memories, and many stories to tell!

Now onto what is going on here at Forget-Me-Not, LLC.  If you haven't looked at the website lately, be sure to take a peek because we have quite a few things going on there!  Tonner's Cami & Jon Redhead and Jonquil have finally arrived; what beauties they are too!  The redhead's hair is more auburn in color, and what a beautiful shade it is too!

On the Carol Wilson pages, there are some luscious new boxed die cut notes, all embossed with glitter or foil, sure to catch your eye.  They are quite lovely, don't you agree?  Along with the boxed die cut notes, there are also 4 new mini portfolio designs, one of which is a quilt design, sure to delight our quilters.

I would love to hear from you, so stay in touch and check in often.

June2010

Thanks for stopping by to visit me in Door County Wisconsin. We love our little part of the country. If you don’t know where Door County is, we are located about 3 ½ hours north of Milwaukee on a peninsula between Lake Michigan and Green Bay. We are nestled snuggly in a little community called ‘Fish Creek’…a wonderful place to visit and a very special place to call home. We have many visitors come to Door County every year. Many times friends have said, “My goodness Suzanne, this is a hidden treasure .…a heavenly spot and not dissimilar to Cape Cod!.” We have 5 of the most beautiful state parks imaginable. Treat yourself to a leisurely bike ride through Peninsula State Park along Green Bay and you will come upon one of the ten lighthouses located here. Additionally, Door County and the Arts are like a marriage made in heaven. Around the 250 miles of shoreline we have many quaint towns and little villages located throughout the Peninsula. With all the shoreline and the area’s natural beauty, artists are drawn to this area where they find they are greatly inspired and easily able to nurture their creativity.

I also love the arts, being involved in them myself, more so in the world of the ‘NeedleArts’. I learned to sew at a very young age from my dear grandmother who first taught me to ‘stitch a seam’ in making a skirt for my doll. And of course, it went from there! She was my teacher and inspiration! In the world of NeedleArts, just about all types of detailed embroidery, including hardanger, bring me great joy, as well as relaxation. You can see from the picture that I spend a fair amount of time in embroidery, as this is just a sampling. These beautiful little ‘pillows’ are made of fine linen and trimmed in fine laces, ribbons and/or other gorgeous trims. Each one is finished with a beautiful crystal heart or other decorative crystal. They are lovingly filled with lavender or ‘forget-me-not’ potpourri and are available for purchase starting at $124.99. Those shown do not have any ‘filling’ in them as I like to fill them when they are packaged for shipping. They are each special and take many months to complete. If interested, just e-mail me for the detailed information.

I will be updating you often so stay ‘tuned in’ for updates and more information about Fish Creek, our website, and anything else that may come along, including any special surprise that might be fun and of interest.
